Great Yarmouth merges with Gorleston about half way along the harbour. Though officially part of Great Yarmouth it is much quieter.
From the pier there are views of colour washed
houses and a disused lighthouse of Old Gorleston.
Along the coast towards Lowestoft fishermen from
the pier catch Dab, Sole, Cod, Whiting, Bass and the
occasional Spined Weaver.
Gorleston has sandy beaches and swimming is safe except between the breakwater at the South and the model yacht pond.
